Our swimming pool, open late July until early September, is heated to at least 25 degrees and is surrounded by a decked sun terrace. It's south facing so makes the most of the sunshine. As you can see from the picture, it also has wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. We also have a little paddling pool for babies and toddlers. Next to the pool is our indoor games room (pictured below).
Our indoor games room has table football, table tennis, a punch bag and fitness equipment. We have a library of books and DVDs and a fancy dress box that is hugely popular with children. We also have outdoor games, including rounders, French cricket, badminton, volleyball, and Molky. Little ones will love our treasure hunts and our puppet theatre. Our petanque pitch is ideally located for the evening sun.
We have a large stone barn with beautiful oak beams that can be used for dinners or parties. It's pictured here all set up for a Christmas party (Santa came too - on a drive-on lawnmower!). We can also organise outside catering, a bouncy castle, entertainment, a photographer, and can help with any other requirements. Our decked terrace is perfect for an evening meal while the sun sets, while our shady garden is the spot for a romantic dinner for two (babysitting can be arranged).
Our large lawn is ideal for a game of football, volley ball or rounders and little ones will love playing on the ride-on toys and exploring the dens. We have planted an orchard of apple, pear, peach and cherry trees which are now bearing fruit. Our decked sun terrace has stunning views across the surrounding countryside, while our tranquil shady garden is the perfect place to curl up with a book.
We (Bev, Warren and our son Freddie) are originally from Brighton but had always talked about escaping the city and living the 'good life'. After spending many summers exploring France in our VW camper van, we decided on central Brittany, viewed countless properties, and fell in love with Guebernez. Alongside looking after the guests, and Freddie, and Flo (our dog), we have both managed to continue our careers as a travel journalist (Bev) and an interiors/landscape photographer (Warren).
